Body By Vi, is it healthy?

So... I have noticed lately that a LOT of people I know on facebook have been using the Body By Vi products, and posting about them.  I've even gotten a few facebook messages from friends telling me how they've lost 20 lbs on them, and would like to help me lose 20 lbs too.

First of all, What makes you think I NEED to lose 20 lbs?  That's offensive, but not really the direction I want this post to go in.

I have actually tried to Body By Vi shakes as well, and I must say they're pretty darn delicious, but the carb content compared to other shakes really concerns me.  I always wonder how their carb content is so low.

I came across this post on facebook today, and it really got me thinking.  To be able to judge for myself, I would need to look more into the body by Vi shakes, but I wanted to post this here for those of you who are interested.

Now, I know this is a LOT of information to dig through, but if you've got a minute, I suggest reading it, for your body's sake.

FACEBOOK POST (MARCH 13, 2013)

Body by Vi”:

"Monica Cornwell Parodi: I could never sell Body By Vi. I realize there are unhealthy shakes out there. Beachbody sells them too. The difference is BB doesn't market those as HEALTHY. BB realizes some people eat at McDonald's and they aren't looking for the healthiest meal of the day. The issue with Body by Vi is that they deceive people with the notion that their product is healthy. That makes me incredibly mad. If you sell Body by Vi you will be giving people Phytoestrogens DAILY that cause thyroid problems, estrogen imbalances & can stimulate breast cancer cells. Sucralose is chlorinated hydrocarbon and every bit of that in the world is toxic & carcinogenic. Anyone that has any kind of chemistry background will tell you that. There is a hiiden MSG that kills brain cells. There is NO FOOD in the shake only chemically created vitamins and minerals. It's a chemical, toxic shake. Sleep well at night selling that as healthy. Cigarettes & alcohol come with a warning label- Visalus needs one too. Another coach wrote this up & they are SPOT ON!! I’ve heard the name Body by Vi (my fiance hadn’t), but I hadn’t bothered doing any research into it just yet. So the three of us hopped online to do some research. The biggest question that my fiance and I had was the sweetener. A shake that supposedly tastes like cake is going to have a sweetener in it, but what kind? So we went on their website and started searching for their full ingredients list. We found their list of vitamins, which they labeled as their ingredients list, but no actual ingredients list. This to me was a HUGE red flag. If their products are really so great and so healthy for you, they’d be flaunting their ingredients like crazy. That made it sound like they had something to hide. After some extensive googling, we finally found what we were looking for. I was right; they DO have something to hide.

You know why they were hiding their ingredients? Because they put some nasty stuff in there. Body by Vi contains soy lecithin, soy protein isolate, sucralose, and mono-diglycerides. Let me break it down for you.

Soy Lecithin: Comes from sludge left after crude soy oil goes through a “degumming” process. It is a waste product containing solvents and pesticides and has a consistency ranging from a gummy fluid to a plastic solid.

Sucralose: Artificial sweetener commonly packaged as “Splenda”. Sucralose is made by chemically altering the structure of sugar molecules by adding chlorine atoms in place of hydroxyl groups. Sucralose is therefore chlorinated sugar; a chlorocarbon. Chlorocarbons are poisonous.

Soy Protein Isolate: Contains chemicals that are associated with the development of Alzheimer’s and cancer. Also contains phytoestrogens which have been shown to cause rapid growth of breast cancer cells.

Mono-diglycerides: Basically another name for hydrogenated oil*.

*Hydrogenated oil is trans fat, and it’s a major risk for heart disease. In Denmark, legislation removing “hydrogenated vegetable oil” from the food chain was introduced in June 2003. Since then, the rate of heart disease among Danes has dropped by a staggering 40 percent.

So the conclusion is that if you or anyone you know is associated with Body by Vi, whether it’s using, thinking about using, or selling, get them to stop immediately. Body by Vi may be economically friendly, but once again, you get what you pay for."
I could have a field day with this one. There are hidden MSG's- exitoxins that make your nerve endings stand on end & get all excited about what you are eating. It's like a drug & kills your brain cells. I could write a book about sucralose. I could talk for days about the soy protein isolate and it's negative effects on the thyroid function. The Hihj Oleic Oil too. This is way worse than the glance I remember getting!!! I'll copy and post a few things.

This is from Dr. Russell Blaylock: Back to the "hidden" ingredients
So how do food companies manage to hide excitotoxins and taste additives to their foods? It's easy: They just keep changing the words to confuse consumers. Once customers learned to avoid MSG / monosodium glutamate, the food companies started using yeast extract.

And now, two years after I started sounding the alarm on yeast extract, many companies have switched to "torula yeast," which accomplishes the same thing. Other hidden sources of MSG include:
Autolyzed vegetable protein
Hydrolyzed vegetable protein
Calcium caseinate
Sodium caseinate
Textured proteinin
Okay back to the sucralose. Here's what Dr. Steven Hotze had to say about it: Sucralose is chlorinated hydrocarbon, which is toxic. Any chlorinated hydrocarbon in the world is toxic and carcinogenic. Spelnda was originally made as a pesticide- go dump it on your ant beds and come back tomorrow to see all of the dead ants. Sucralose is poison.

I could go on but you get the point! I could never ever represent Body by Vi. To say that it's healthy is deceiving and sad!! That's what they have on the label. They are only required to post 80% of what's in it on the label. I'd hate to see what they put in there not on the label. Shakeology post 100% accuracy on the label and NO food companies do that! Love BB's integrity!
