Alright, I know a lot of you are wondering what I do... So I just wanted to share with you some samples.
Most of you know that I'm working on my MFA in Film, and I'm a Post Production Artist. What you don't understand are the words Post, Production, and Artist. Ok, ok, you understand all of those words, but when I put them together that's where it gets a little fuzzy... Well, my track is Editing. What is editing? Well, editing is kind of like putting together a puzzle. I have all these pieces (film shots) and it's my job to make them fit together in the best way to tell the story. It's a lot of fun, but it can be exhausting work sometimes.
I'm not, however, going to be talking about editing today. I want to show some examples of a project I'm working on color correcting at the moment.
Still frame number 1: This is raw footage that was shot. As you can see, the color is a little flat, and the female's face is a little washed out.
Now STILL FRAME 2: This is the colored version... the girl now has color restored to her face, and everything seems to be a little more saturated altogether... I'm not done though, but I wanted to share anyway. Feedback?
And here is STILL FRAME 3: the picture on the left is the flat footage that was shot. As you can see, the blue of his shirt is really dark, and looks a little green. Now for the picture on the right, the saturation has been restored to the shirt, we can make everything out, but the overall look still has the warm glow of the candle. Cool, right? I think so.
Anyway, that's what I'm working on currently, and by currently, I mean today. I've got a LOT of stuff I'm working on. ;)
