Quinoa

All about Quinoa!

What the heck is that?  How do you even pronounce that word?

No worries, your problems are solved with this short video....

So, pretty simple, right? Ca-no-ca-na-quoa.

Ok Ok Ok, you caught me, it's actually pronounced this way....

But....

What is it?!

Quinoa is a grain that can be used in substitution to Wheat and Rice.  It's so easy to make it's ridiculous, and can even be ground into a flour for baking.

What makes this grain stand out from the rest is it is actually a complete protein.  You heard me right.  A COMPLETE PROTEIN!!!!

HOW?

Well, as most of us know, most grains are not considered complete proteins because they lack adequate amounts of the amino acids lysine and isoleucine (LAA).    Quinoa has significantly greater amounts of both lysine and isoleucine, and these amounts allow the protein in quinoa to serve as a complete protein source.  So Quinoa contains all 9 essential amino acids that make it a complete protein!

BOOM!

GO QUINOA!
